Google Sites Tutorial
Creating Google Sites is a nice way to create a presentation your way. Once you create your site, you need to think about your theme and plan. What do you want your pages to "say"? In a way, it's like creating a book or series of books that you have researched or written (always give credit to your sources including photos). Make a list of what you absolutely need to have to start your "LAUNCH", then make a 2nd list that has your "dream site" pages. Check every link, have someone proofread and give you feedback. It is better to have a site with only 3 pages that is complete, easy to navigate with working links than to have 20 pages full of errors or incomplete pages. When you have that accomplished, start adding additional pages as time permits. Have fun with it and show your creativity and imagination.
One really great thing about Google Sites is the ability to allow others to have editing rights. Obviously you would only do that with a trusted collaborator(s). You would still need to make sure everything was done correctly. Just click the SHARE button and give them edit rights. Include a message in your email so they know what it is about. NOTE: Unlike other Google sources, you MUST click SAVE if you see the blue box appear at the top. This is to prevent Google from saving something you don't want to keep. Gives you more control over that area.
IDEAS: Create a portfolio of your schoolwork including artwork, etc. Have a links page of your favorite sites, important school links, etc. Remember this is a school educational site so you shouldn't be sharing a lot of personally identifiable information including your last name.
