5th Grade Learning Goal:
a. Create an account using email address. Test account to see if it is working.
b. Research your topic, write a paragraph about topic citing research.
c. Download pictures related to site
d. Copy URL (web address) and create links for both web sites and related videos.
Day 1
Day 2: Research and Design Phase: You must find 6-7 links (at least 2 of these should be video). For video go to TEACHER TUBE or SCHOOL TUBE Add 7 pictures...use one for your main heading and the other 6 should be in the gallery section.
Be sure to save your work as you go.
Day 3: Continue Research, Design Phase, proofread your work, test your links. Write an opening paragraph about your topic citing references correctly.
Day 4: Completion-Share your flyer (see information below)
TOPIC CHOICES (5th grade targets are included for April)
MATH: Multiplication, Measurement
SOCIAL STUDIES: U. S. Government, The Constitution, etc. ( You may report on the entire U.S. Government OR narrow it down to one part). *I can identify the principles of Constitutional Democracy and in documents of democracy."
SCIENCE: Biosphere (or pick from your goals below.)
Students will be able to evaluate Earth's systems.
SMORE requirements:
___1. a paragraph about your topic and a picture to go with it. Give credit to your source. (include title and web address URL)
___2. a minimum of 5 photos or pictures related to the topic. One picture should be at the top with your paragraph, other photos should be in the Photo Gallery with a description.
___3. a minimum of 2 videos from teacher tube or school tube or National Geographic (if you are able to see a video on any of the other sites, you are welcome to use their link.
NOTE: To get the address, you need to copy the address CTRL-C and pate it into the link.
___4. Include the following features: Bio (this will be used instead of the original title), Photo Gallery, Video, Embed Link, Button-works just like the video and embed link, but looks different, Photo Gallery, look on the right side of screen to customize your flyer.
___5. Share your document when through with your teacher, core teacher of the subject of your flyer, yourself and 3 other students in the classroom. SUBJECT: include Topic and block -YOU MUST INCLUDE THIS.

- Create a Smore account using your school email.
- Select a topic related to current classwork from list below for April.
- DIRECTIONS:
- Go to Smore.com Click SIGN UP.
- Use your School email address. Make sure it is 100% correct BEFORE sending.
- You choose your password or use your current password-your choice.
- Click START USING SMORE NOW.
- Click a new tab in Google Chrome and go to your gmail. Find your smore message. If you don't see it, click F5 to refresh.
- Open email and confirm.
- Pick your topic...see choices below.
- Pick a picture from google that you want to use for your heading.
- Click Save Work. Go to YOU in the upper right hand corner. Click Log out.
- Next class you will begin your presentation or you may work on it at home.
