Your time is from 10:20 to 11:20 so you have one hour. Depending upon the amount of interaction from students, you might not have time to finish all the videos. I'm adding extra videos as well just in case.
Lesson 1: Bears and other wild animals that attack
Pre preparation: The roster will be in the folder for this class and Electrified and Batman as well.
You will need to go to the website and set it up on the computer. (I am hoping they provided you with the link). Step 1: Take attendance on both sheets, leave one in the folder and turn in one to the front desk. Ask if there is anyone whose name you did not call. If their name was not called, check their id badge to make sure they are in the correct class. If they are not, you can have the teacher assistant take them to the correct class. If they are in the right class and their name is not on the roster, please add them to the list. Step 1b: Please take attendance on both sheets. Put one in the folder and turn in the other one to the front desk. If students come in and are scattered across the whole auditorium, have them move in closer to the front so we can all be together. Step 2: Go to the website raukar.weebly.com and click When animals attack lesson 1. Step 3: Intro to class. "This class is all about when animals attack and how to protect yourself or loved ones if this happens. This class is NOT designed to scare you or make you afraid of animals. It is just designed to get you thinking how to stay safe and be smart when you are in a difficult situation." Step 4: Ask students...Raise your hand if you have ever been attacked by an animal or have a close friend or family member that it has happened to? If any student raises their hand, have them share their story if they wish. Step 5: Today, we are going to focus on wild mammals. Can you tell me what a mammal is? Can you NAME a mammal? Give students opportunities to respond then show them the video about mammals to make sure they understand about mammals. When the video is over, check for understanding by asking yes/no or true/false questions. Use thumbs up for yes and thumbs down for no. Provide opportunities for students to provide input if there are students in the group who seem comfortable sharing. Step 6: Watch the videos about Bears who attack from the movie, then watch videos that say what to do to keep safe and facts about bears. Watch this video first...use the settings on the right to watch just the bear movies. |
