Pot Pie Recipes Chicken Pot Pie 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces 2 Tbsp. Italian dressing 2 cups onions, broccoli, cauliflower. carrots OR (carrots, corn, green beans, peas) 1 can (10-3/4 oz.) cream of chicken soup 1/4 lb. cream cheese 1 pie crust 1 egg, beaten |
Directions: Heat oven to 400ºF and Bake for 30 minutes 2 Cook and stir chicken in dressing in large skillet on medium heat 5 min. or until done. Stir in vegetables and soup. Spoon into 9-inch square baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; top with cream cheese. 3: Unfold pie crust; place over mix. Fold under edges of pastry; press onto top of baking dish to seal. Brush with egg. Cut several slits in pastry to permit steam to escape. Place dish on baking sheet. Sprinkle cheese on top 4: Bake 30 min. or until crust is deep golden brown. Today you will try a pre-made frozen casserole from the grocery store.
One of the things you can do is take a pre-made casserole and add your own things to it. Here is the casserole you will use (see pictures). Keep frozen and do not thaw until ready to cook. Play a game when through. Option 1: Cook in skillet Voila Chicken Alfredo Casserole 21 ounces Ingredients: Voila Chicken Alfredo Casserole Bag 1/3 cup water in a skillet extra Swiss (or cheddar) shredded cheese (8 oz) Medium Heat 11-12 minutes or until heated thoroughly, stirring occasionally. GOAL: Today you are going to learn to make grilled cheese with a twist and you will learn how to grill onions too. As you make your grilled cheese, you will also add tomato and grilled onions to the mix.
First we will prepare the onions. I will start by chopping the onion.
Step 1: Now that the onions have been chopped, we are going to grill them. How many of you have cut onions before? Grilled them? (show of hands)
So you are going to help me grill the onions.
Volunteer to add a little olive oil to the frying pan? I will pick someone if you don’t volunteer OK?
Who wants to scoop the onions into the frying pan?
Who wants to add a half teaspoon of salt to the onions?
Who wants to help by stirring the onions?
So to start with, we need to make sure you wash your hands and wear gloves.
Step 1: Make grilled onions
Recipe for grilled onions
___1-2 chopped onions ____olive oil ____frying pan
Step 2: Get your ingredients. ___2 slices of bread ___cheese ____butter
Put items on plate. ____tomato slices (enough to fit on your bread)
____ grilled onions ____plastic knife (to butter bread)
Step 3: Butter one side of each slice of bread. Warm up your pan on the burner and set the burner on medium…you don’t want burnt bread.
Step 4: Place the buttered side of the bread on the pan…(if the frying pan is large, you should be able to make 3-4 sandwiches at a time.) Place your cheese down on that piece of bread. Add tomato and grilled onion on top. Add the other piece of bread, but this time, the buttered side is up. Set the timer for 3 minutes and check the side of the bread that is on the pan. If it is a nice golden brown, carefully flip it over with a spatula. You don’t want it to spill out. Then set the timer for 3 more minutes to finish it.
NOTE: It may take longer depending on how long it takes the bread to be ready.
